On Thursday, 21 January, New Strategy Center organized the online debate ”An Assessment of the US Security Policy Under the President Joe Biden Administration”.
The new US president’s mandate, Joe Biden, is expected with interest and hope by the European allies, especially in terms of different approaches compared to the previous administration. The new cabinet’s mission is to ensure that the US returns to the international scene with a particular concern for strengthening multilateral cooperation formats, reaffirming its commitment to respecting human rights and promoting democratic values, proving predictability and continuity in decisions. During the event, the speakers discussed on the future of the US-China relationship, the US position toward the Russian Federation, the strengthening of the relationship with the EU and refreshing the transatlantic relationship, the strategic relevance of the Black Sea, the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean to the US US security interests.
The debate was moderated by MG (Ret.) Leonardo Dinu, member of the Scientific Council of the New Strategy Center, and the speakers were Mr. Ian Brzezinski, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO Policy, LTG (Ret.) Ben Hodges, Pershing Chair for Strategic Studies, Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), former commander United States Army Europe and Dr. Harlan Ullman, Senior Advisor, Atlantic Council, SUA.
