Simulation exercise organized by the Defense General Headquarters together with
the 
Center for the Study of New Generation Warfare – USA and the New Strategy Center

 

In the period June 20 – 22nd, the Defense General Headquarters (SMAp.) conducted the simulation exercise Full Spectrum Deterrence Simulation Exercise 2018, organized in collaboration with the Center for the Study of New Generation Warfare from USA and News Strategy Center, from Romania.

The exercise was a strategic-operative warfare game, which used a specialized simulator, within the Center for Warfare Games and Doctrinaire Experimentations, a specialty structure within the Defense General Headquarters, and had the support of the National defense University Carol the 1st.

During the here days of the exercise, representatives of SMAp and those from other structures of the National Defense Ministry, along representatives of some institutions in charge of national security, have benefited of the involvement I this exercise of some experts in this field from USA and from NATO structures.

The objectives of the exercise were the analysis on multinational, inter-institutions, strategic and operational levels of the aspects related to managing a multiple-dimensions crisis, in which are being used hybrid aggression elements in the preparation and triggering of a conventional conflict. The exercise also regarded the influence of the regional developments in the field of security over the planning of the inter-institutions and military response to the crisis, but also the testing of the reaction capacity while using new warfare capabilities, using the support resulted from simulating the effects of decisions made during crisis management.
