New Strategy Center presented in London, at the conference “NATO’s Next Ten Years”, organized at the London School of Economics, the study “Focsani Gate – A Key Terrain for European Security”, carried out by New Strategy Center and Centre for the Study of the New Generation Warfare in the USA.
The study highlights the importance of the Focsani Gate for the defense of the capital of Romania and the passageway to the Balkans, based on geographic data and information, military history, as well as observations resulting from the simulation exercise organized by the Romanian Defense Staff, together with New Strategy Center and Centre for the Study of the New Generation Warfare from the US, at the Academy of Land Forces in Sibiu, in September 2019. This study is part of the New Strategy Center actions to promote outside Romania the strategic importance of the Black Sea region and the need for a unitary approach from NATO for the entire Eastern Flank.
