On October 1st, New Strategy Center organized, at the National Military Club, the debate : ‘Telemedicine – a major project for Romania. Challenges and evolution’.

The event was attended, as speakers, by Mr. Raed Arafat, State Secretary , Head of the Emergency Department, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Laszlo Attila, Chairman of the Committee on Public Health, Senate, The Romanian Parliament, Col. Gabriel David, Chief of Information Security Department, Special Telecommunications Service, Mr. Eyup Turmuș, Advisor and Programme Manager, Emergency Security Challenges Division, NATO, LTG (Ret.) James Peake, former States Secretary of Veterans Affaires, the 40th Surgeon General of the United States Army, USA, MG Teodor Incicaş, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff for Resources, MG Florentina Ioniță, General Director, Central Military Emergency University Hospital “Dr. Carol Davila” and Col. Dragoș Haralambie, Head of Research and Education Section, Medical Directorate, Ministry of National Defense.

The dynamic debate focused on the opportunity to use new technologies in medicine, with positive results for both doctors and patients, telemedicine being one of the areas that have experienced remarkable development in recent years.
