On Wednesday, 8 July 2020, New Strategy Center organized the online debate entitled ‘The National Defense Strategy of Romania. How Will Romania Act in the Next 5 Years in the Security Domain?’. The National Defense Strategy is the most important programmatic document of the President of Romania, which sets the country’s priorities in the field of national security for the next 5 years, analyzing the risks, threats and vulnerabilities, as well as the evolution of the international environment in the next years. This document is all the more important in the context of the economic effects of the pandemic, with a strong impact on external developments, including on security.
The debate was attended by Mr. Constantin Ionescu, State Adviser, Head of the Integrated Intelligence Office, Presidential Administration, Mrs. Simona Cojocaru, State Secretary, Head of the Department for Defense Policy, Ministry of National Defense and Mr. Dan Neculaescu, State Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, being moderated by Mr. George Scutaru, CEO of the New Strategy Center.
