The speakers highlighted the difficulties of the reconstruction process amid constant attacks on infrastructure, emphasizing the necessary transition toward a “Marshall Plan” for Ukraine. Four strategic sectors were identified for attracting investment in the Kyiv region: energy (prioritizing a 1-gigawatt project pipeline for resilience and green energy opportunities), logistics, manufacturing, and technological innovation.
Furthermore, the potential of the town of Ukrainka to become a major commercial and logistics hub was emphasized, highlighting the importance of its railway infrastructure and access to the Dnieper River. In the context of the attacks on Odesa, the region’s cereal storage and processing facilities offer a strategic opportunity to strengthen trade routes toward the port of Constanța and EU markets.
The participants encouraged the formation of joint stakeholder and expert groups for the preliminary drafting of business models, pointing out that Romania can become a major investor in a mutually advantageous reconstruction process driven by long-term modernization.
