Rebuild Ukraine Forum 2026 / Panel VIc / 22 October 2026

The speakers highlighted the transformation of the Ivano-Frankivsk region into a hub of stability and economic growth, with a high degree of safety given its 700 km distance from the front line. This environment has driven a 500% increase in registered legal entities over the last two years and the rapid development of industrial parks. Oksana Savchuk emphasized the importance of deepening cross-border economic cooperation with Romania, inviting Romanian investors to capitalize on the Ukrainian market and catch up with the already strong partnership with Poland. The Ukrainian state provides concrete support through major tax incentives, a highly digitized business registration process (the Diia app) and direct consulting via agencies such as Invest Ukraine and the Chambers of Commerce.

Sviatoslav Nykorovych underscored the region’s ability to retain young people, with 40,000 students, and detailed local grants supporting women and veteran entrepreneurs, while praising successful partnerships with the Romanian cities of Baia Mare and Satu Mare. Tetyana Kozak detailed the region’s potential in manufacturing, agriculture and renewable energy, highlighting six industrial parks becoming operational that are expected to create thousands of jobs. The speakers also pointed to the year-round tourism potential of the Carpathian Mountains and the strategic value of the region’s natural resources in the context of global climate change.

In conclusion, the officials reiterated that investing in the region is both a valuable commercial opportunity and a vital contribution to Ukraine’s resilience and defense.
