Consultations between New Strategy Center experts and Polish experts

New Strategy Center organized a consultation session on issues of common interest in Oradea from June 10–12, in partnership with the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw (SEW UW) and the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) of Poland.

During the event, hosted by the University of Oradea, experts from the two countries discussed topics of shared interest, including possible developments in the war in Ukraine, peace negotiations, security guarantees for Ukraine, and transatlantic relations. They also examined challenges facing the EU and NATO, as well as regional cooperation frameworks and their impact on connectivity projects. Another important topic was the strengthening of cooperation between Romania and Poland in light of the existing security challenges on NATO’s eastern flank. The three organizations intend to continue contributing actively to the strategic dialogue between Romania and Poland, taking into account the importance of the partnership between the two countries.

This was the sixth event organized in this format and forms part of New Strategy Center’s ongoing efforts to help experts from countries important to Romania’s security gain a better understanding of the threats facing the Black Sea region and of the region’s strategic importance, particularly in the current highly volatile international environment.
