NATO and Cyberspace. New Challenges for Collective Defense.

New Strategy Center launches “NSC – Initiative for Strategic Debates” designed as a debate platform to discuss relevant issues to national, NATO and the EU security. The coordinator of this project is Mr. Sorin Ducaru, President of the Scientific Council of New Strategy Center, former Assistant to NATO Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges.

The first NSC – Initiative for Strategic Debatesreunion, was entitled „NATO and cyberspace. New challenges for collective defense” and benefited from Mr. Sorin Ducaru’s speach.

We start this process, convinced that we need political and national consensus on the major issues related to national security. We need coherence in security public policies, we need medium and long-term strategies to be undertaken across the entire political spectrum and to be brought to a conclusion, regardless of successive governments in power.

The format will be a quarterly meeting, on a default theme, with a 20-30 minute intervention by the coordinator of the initiative or a special guest, followed by an hour and a half discussions. We will invite no more than 35 people, in order to facilitate dialogue and exchange ideas, and the participants are selected according to the thematic and their competences in the field. Invitations will be nominal, non-transmissible and the meetings will be held under Chatham House rules.
