NSC at “Conference on Defence Industrial Cooperation between Germany and Romania”

New Strategy Center participated on Monday, November 10, in the “Conference on Defence Industrial Cooperation between Germany and Romania”, organized by the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

George Scutaru, CEO of NSC, was a speaker in the panel “Tapping into the potential of cooperation between German and Romanian companies in the defence industry.” He presented possible security developments in the Black Sea region in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the hybrid actions that Russia could carry out after a ceasefire, and the ways in which security threats in the Black Sea region influence the types of capabilities Romania needs for its deterrence and defense policy.

Another topic addressed by George Scutaru was the cooperation between Romania and Germany in several areas-political, military, and economic, taking into account Germany’s experience in the military-industrial field, Germany’s status as a Danube country, and the two countries’ shared strategic interests on multiple issues. The cyber domain, the protection of critical energy infrastructure, and security in the Black Sea offshore area can be further areas of common interest, considering that from 2027 Romania will become the largest gas producer in the EU through the exploitation of the Neptun Deep perimeter, and Germany will import gas from the Black Sea.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
