The New Strategy Center participated in two high-level international events held in Warsaw, Poland, between May 7–11: the Transatlantic Periscope Summit and the Think Tank Forum “Designing Better Europe Together.”
NSC was represented by Dilara Kakillioglu, Coordinator of the Research Department, who engaged in strategic-level discussions alongside leading European and transatlantic policymakers, researchers, and civil society representatives.
The Periscope Summit, held May 7–8, gathered partners of the Transatlantic Periscope platform to exchange insights on the current geopolitical climate, including a special briefing titled “Around the Periscope – Partner Briefing on Trump 2.0,” where participants shared challenges and opportunities emerging in their bilateral relationships with the new U.S. administration. The event also addressed Ukraine’s current strategic context and explored outreach plans for the platform.

The Think Tank Forum, which ran from May 8–11, focused on shaping a more cohesive and globally competitive European Union. During the forum, Dilara Kakillioglu engaged in high-level discussions covering EU enlargement, sustainability and economic growth, strategic autonomy, European defense, and democratic resilience. Key sessions addressed the balance between industrial competitiveness and climate goals, the EU’s technological independence in the context of transatlantic relations, and the strengthening of European societies against hybrid threats. The program included policy discussions and cultural engagements that emphasized the need for long-term EU reform.
