NSC dialogue with experts from Kiev on the security situation in the Black Sea region

On Wednesday, February 2, experts from New Strategy Center participated in an online dialogue with Ukrainian experts in the field of security and international relations.
Discussions focused on the security situation in the Black Sea region, the crisis on the Ukrainian-Russian border, and negotiations between the United States; NATO and Russia and on the short and medium term prospects. The extensive process of militarization and accumulation of forces by the Russian Federation creates a real danger for Ukraine, but also for European security, and the policy of spheres of influence, which is intended to be revived by Moscow, cannot be accepted because it would restrict the sovereign right of the states to choose on their own the alliances and international organizations to adhere to. The debate benefited from presentations by Mr. Mykhailo Samus, Director, New Geopolitics Research Network, and Mr. Mykhailo Gonchar, President, Center for Global Studies “Strategy XXI”.
The dialogue was moderated by Ambassador Doru Costea, a member of the Scientific Council of the New Strategy Center.
