New Strategy Center participated on Wednesday, 23 November, in the conference “Strategic partnership for a secure and digital Europe”, organised in Prague by the think tank EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in the Czech Republic, in collaboration with the Atlantic Council, USA, and the Centre for European Perspective, Slovenia.

The discussions focused on the different approaches to internet regulation taken by the European Union and the United States, and how this risks leading to the emergence of more digital worlds. It was also emphasized that the transatlantic partnership remains the best way to ensure the spread of a free internet that respects fundamental rights in an environment where autocratic countries want controlled and even limited internet access for their own citizens.

One panel focused on the event’s theme included Susan Ness, non-resident fellow at the Atlantic Council, Igor Zgrabljic, Public Policy Manager at Google and Sergiu Mitrescu, Deputy Program Director, New Strategy Center.
