NSC video-conference – One Flank, One Threat, One Presence: A Strategy for NATO’s Eastern Flank
New Strategy Center organized on Friday, 5 June, the online conference entitled ‘One Flank, One Threat, One Presence: A Strategy for NATO’s Eastern Flank’.  Based on the recent report with the same name by the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), the dialogue was held between LTG (Ret) Ben Hodges, former Commander for the US Army Europe, Pershing Chair for Strategic Studies of the Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), USA and MG Iulian Berdilă, Chief of Staff of the Land Forces of Romania. The discussion was moderated by Rear Admiral (Ret) Sorin Learschi, senior associate expert of New Strategy Center.
The main topic of discussion was the unitary NATO approach towards the entire Eastern Flank, from the Arctic to the Black Sea region, as well as the present security risks heightened by the Covid-19 pandemic, the reaction of the North Atlantic Alliance and the contribution of Romania for consolidating NATO regional security.
