On Monday, 19 October, New Strategy Center held  the online debate on “Security and Defense Policy of France in Europe“, with Emmanuel Dupuy, President of the Institute for European Perspective and Security, and Florent Parmentier, professor at SciencePo, France, as speakers.

France’s vision of Europe’s strategic autonomy project, the details on the  European Intervention Initiative promoted by President Emmanuel Macron, the bilateral cooperation with Germany and post-Brexit defense cooperation with the UK were among the topics addressed by the speakers. The debate, moderated by MG (ret.) Leonardo Dinu, Member of the Scientific Council of the New Strategy Center, also considered French involvement in various delicate geopolitical files, the fight against terrorism and Paris’s general interests in the Black Sea, Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean region, and also the relationship between France and Russia.
