Strategic level workshop, in an interinstitutional format

On Monday, May 16th, the Defense Staff, in collaboration with the New Strategy Center and the Center for the Study of the New Generation Warfare from the US organized a workshop dedicated to the lessons learned so far from the war in Ukraine. The event had two modules, one at expert level, the other at strategic, decision-making level, both of which took place in an interinstitutional format, at the National Military Circle in Bucharest.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the General Defense Staff, of the categories of forces in the Romanian Army, of other structures within the Ministry of Defense, together with representatives of several ministries, agencies and institutions that have responsibilities in the field of national security. The event was attended, in classic and online format, by Romanian military and civilian experts, as well as from the US and Ukraine.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
