The Foreign and Security Policy of France: An Outlook for 2022

On Thursday, December 16, New Strategy Center organized the conference “The Foreign and Security Policy of France: An Outlook for 2022”. The debate was attended as speakers by Jean-Christophe Bas, CEO and Executive Board Chairman, Dialogue Research Institute, France and Emmanuel Dupuy, President of the Institute for Introspective and Security in Europe – IPSE, France.

Moderated by Ambassador Gheorghe Magheru, Member of the Scientific Council of the New Strategy Center, the discussion focused on France’s foreign and security policy prospects in 2022. Next year is foreshadowed as a particularly important one by the strategic documents that will be adopted, the Strategic Compass at EU level and the new Strategic Concept at NATO level. France’s EU initiatives will have a strong impact, especially in terms of strengthening a common European vision on defense and security.

We mention that the debate took place with complete safety measures implemented for the participants, the organizers taking measures such as the mandatory wearing of masks, social distance, access only for vaccinated people, as well as rapid testing of all participants.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
