NSC Study – Russian Roulette in the Pontic Granary: Deploying the ‘Silent Weapon’

New Strategy Center has launched a new study, dedicated to the topic of food security and supply chain disruption following the war in Ukraine, the author being Horia Ciurtin, NSC expert.

The fundamental line of the study points out that Moscow’s offensive actions are not limited at regional level, but have global consequences, structurally affecting the commercial infrastructure of the agri-food sector.
The study was launched on the sidelines of the Black Sea and Balkans Security Forum conference, which took place on September 2-3 in Bucharest.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
