The “European-American Security Dialogue: Black Sea Security Net Assessment” conference on its third edition.

The Ministry of National Defense of Romania, the New Strategy Center (Romania), and the Centre for the Study of New Generation Warfare (USA) jointly organized the third edition of the conference “European-American Security Dialogue: Black Sea Security Net Assessment” between September 22-25.

The event’s theme was the strengthening of transatlantic strategic dialogue to help bolster security in the Black Sea region in the context of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

During the working sessions, participants discussed the geopolitical context, which was dominated by Russia’s attack on Ukraine, potential military developments, and hybrid actions that could threaten the stability of democratic states. The discussion emphasized the importance of maintaining cohesion within the Alliance and support for Ukraine, as well as increasing NATO’s resilience and reducing vulnerabilities. The discussions also focused on highlighting Romania’s profile within the transatlantic relationship, the consolidation and sustainability of which is closely related to Romania’s national security interests.

Following the 2019 and 2021 editions, this year’s “European-American Security Dialogue” conference aimed to encourage the exchange of views between independent Romanian and American experts, representatives of NATO’s Eastern Flank, the United States, and Romanian institutions with responsibilities in the field of national security and defense. Similar events were held as part of this initiative in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Sweden.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
