NSC at the MEDays Forum

New Strategy Center participated in the MEDays – Forum, which took place in Tangier, Morocco, on November 27-30.
The NSC was represented by BG (ret.) Eduard Simion, Senior Associate Expert. He addressed the wider Black Sea and the threats in this area as well as the solutions to counter Russian actions, including through the operationalization of the Black Sea Strategy adopted in the US Congress. At the same time, issues related to the war in Ukraine were presented with a focus on the risks of a forced peace process that could put Ukraine and Europe in an unfavorable position. Russia’s hybrid actions to influence the democratic elections in Europe and the effects on the future European picture were also presented. The main directions of European military development and the challenges ahead were developed. The discussions also covered broader topics such as the definition of polycrises in the context of multipolarity, new global threats, the role of contemporary diplomacy, the importance and role of technology and innovation at the global level, the importance of emerging technologies in ensuring security, the role of international organizations in the new global geostrategic context and solutions for their reform.
