New Strategy Center organized on November 19 an event titled “Digital Cooperation: AI and Cybersecurity,” which brought together experts from Romania and Taiwan and focused on cybersecurity, the semiconductor industry, and the development of AI technologies. The conference was organized in partnership with ROTA (the Association for the Promotion of Economic and Cultural Exchanges with Taiwan – ROTA).
The discussions were considered particularly valuable in a context where information warfare and technological competition are profoundly transforming the European and global security architecture. Taiwan, confronted daily with over two million cyberattacks, has accumulated essential experience in protecting critical infrastructure and strengthening societal resilience.

Special attention was given to the semiconductor industry, a field in which Taiwan is a global leader, producing approximately 90% of the world’s advanced chips. The debate also addressed Romania’s potential to integrate into global value chains by developing cooperation in microelectronics, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and AI applications. The discussions highlighted how education, research, and industry can be connected to create a competitive technological ecosystem in the region.
