Strategic Simulation Exercise

The Defense Staff, in collaboration with the advanced study centers New Strategy Center from Romania and the Center for the Study of the New Generation Warfare from the USA, organized a strategic simulation exercise in inter-institutional format on July 13 and 15, at the National Military Circle, in Bucharest.

The exercise was led by the Chief of Defense Staff, Lieutenant General Daniel Petrescu, and was attended by military and civilian experts in the field of security from Romania, the UK and the US. Foreign guests intervened by videoconferencing. The Chiefs of the Romanian Army Forces also attended the working groups.

The participants analyzed hypothetical military and economic scenarios in the Black Sea region aiming to identify solutions at strategic level for the management of some multidimensional crises and, on the other hand, the evolution of the security environment and the responses at inter-institutional level. The discussions also aimed to improve the promotion of Romania’s security interests.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
