The aim is to attract EU and other external funding sources for research and educational purposes, as well as organizing visits for the lecturers and trainers with the purpose of delivering lectures and exchanging experiences.

The Memorandum is part of both NSC’s and SIOI’s efforts to develop and strengthen a network of partnerships at the European level. The ultimate goal is to facilitate an exchange of expertise between partners with shared interests to enhance the understanding of the security challenges faced by European states in various geographical regions.

The Memorandum was signed by George Scutaru, Director General of NSC and Ambassador Riccardo Sessa, President of SIOI. The signing of the memorandum benefited from the support of the Embassy of Romania in Italy, adding to the development of the bilateral relationship between Romania and Italy.
