Inter-Institutional Exercise Dedicated to the Protection of Underwater Critical Infrastructure
On Friday, February 21, the New Strategy Center partnered with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, through the Department for Emergency Situations and the General Directorate for Internal Protection, to organize a large-scale inter-institutional exercise. The event was dedicated to protecting underwater critical infrastructure, offshore energy, communication, and investment projects of strategic national importance. Additionally, it aimed to assess the inter-agency response to hybrid threats in the Black Sea region.
The Table Top Exercise (TTX) was designed to provide participants a structured environment to practice an integrated civil-military response, test strategic options aligned with national and allied security policies, and implement NATO resilience requirements.
During the exercise, participants engaged in scenario-based syndicate work, simulating responses to multiple risk situations that could impact security in the Black Sea. They collaborated to tackle cascading challenges presented by the complex scenario, ensuring the achievement of key objectives.
This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance awareness of hybrid threats and increase resilience against evolving security challenges in the current geopolitical landscape.
