New Strategy Center at the Balkans Forum in Budapest

New Strategy Center participated on 9-10 March in the Budapest Balkans Forum 2023, organised by the Institute for International Relations and Trade (IFAT) in Hungary, in partnership with the Budapest Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the International Visegrad Fund and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

Sergiu Mitrescu, NSC Programme Director, gave a presentation on energy security in the wider Black Sea and Balkan region with a focus on the role Romania’s energy resources can play in the region’s energy resilience and the importance of securing critical infrastructure in the Black Sea offshore area.

The discussion was joined by Gubad Ibadoghlu, Senior Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics, Aleksandar Kovačević, Senior Visiting Research Fellow, The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, Branimir Jovanović, Economist at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies and Volkmar Klein, Member of the German Bundestag.
