The New Strategy Center participated in the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome on July 10–11, an event organized by the Governments of Italy and Ukraine.
The conference brought together political leaders, representatives of international institutions, the business community, and civil society, with the goal of identifying the best solutions to support Ukraine’s reconstruction. Discussions focused on four main areas: the business environment, human capital, local and regional perspectives, and the European approach to this complex process.
The New Strategy Center was represented by Ms. Ana Maria Schaer, Events Manager. During discussions with companies, experts, and officials attending the event, NSC emphasized Romania’s competitive advantages for potential investors interested in contributing to Ukraine’s reconstruction. These include Romania’s strategic location on the border with Ukraine and access to the Black Sea and the Danube, its status as a NATO and EU member, which ensures a stable and secure framework for business development, and access to energy resources, further strengthened by the planned start of natural gas extraction from the Neptun Deep perimeter in 2027, at which point Romania is expected to become the largest natural gas producer in Europe.
By participating in such events, the New Strategy Center reaffirms its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s reconstruction efforts and promoting Romania as a reliable partner and key regional platform for investment, particularly in the reconstruction of southern Ukraine, which has been severely affected by the war.
