New Strategy Center meeting with Georgia Tech students from the USA

On Tuesday, July 5th, a group of students from Georgia Tech, the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, in the United States met with experts from the New Strategy Center. Ambassador Doru Costea, member of the Scientific Council, and Mr. Marcel Foca, Senior Associate Expert at the New Strategy Center, gave presentations on the regional security context and Romania’s role in it. At the same time, American students learned about the New Strategy Center’s efforts to promote the strategic importance of the Black Sea and the Balkans, as well as the projects in which our organization is involved. The information provided focused on PatriotFest, Romania’s only national competition for security innovation, which is now in its fourth year and is organized by New Strategy Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Special Telecommunications Service, and the Protection and Guard Service.

This meeting is part of the NSC’s efforts to emphasize the importance of our region, helping to improve young people’s level of knowledge about the Black Sea and the Balkans and the current security context.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
