NSC at the “Allies at the Frontline” debate

On November 27, the New Strategy Center took part in the online debate “Allies at the Frontline”, organized by the Royal Alberta United Services Institute (RAUSI) in Canada.
The debate focused on national security. Rear Admiral (ret.) Iuri Covaleov, Senior Associate Expert at NSC, presented the process of drafting the country’s National Defense Strategy, the risks and threats highlighted in the document, emphasizing the fact that this is the first time the document has been opened to public debate. The discussions also examined the security situation in Europe, particularly in the Black Sea region, as well as possible developments in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Also participating in the debate were Maj. Gen. (ret.) Theo ten Haaf, former Commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Netherlands, and Lt. Gen. (ret.) Lech Majewski, former Commander of the Air Force of Poland.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
