New Strategy Center participated on Friday, August 4, in Odesa, at the conference dedicated to the reconstruction of this region. The event was attended by the President of the Odesa Regional Council, Grigory Didenko, the President of the Military Administration of Odesa, Oleg Kiper, the Mayor of Odesa, Gennadii Truhanov, representatives of the business environment, of local authorities and deputies from the Supreme Rada of Ukraine.
The conference addressed issues of transport infrastructure, security and critical infrastructure strengthening, issues related to cross-border cooperation and logistics or the development of port infrastructure. Russia’s attacks on port targets in the Odesa region have a major negative impact on international transport corridors, intensifying export problems. The pressure on Izmail and Reni ports, which currently have to deal with the attacks, but also manage record quantities of goods, it should become a catalyst for new projects to modernize and rebuild these ports. For Ukraine, transport, logistics and infrastructure are key elements of development on its way to the EU. The reconstruction of the Odesa region, but also of the whole country is impossible without the support and involvement of foreign partners. Ukraine requires both the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged or destroyed by the invasion of Russia, and the modernization of the old one and the construction of a new infrastructure.
New Strategy Center was represented at this conference by Ms. Ecaterina Dadiverina, coordinator of the Department ” Projects for Ukraine ”.
