NSC at the international conference „Dialogue and Cooperation in the Black Sea and Balkans Regions”

On 13 October, Dr. Alina Bârgăoanu, Associate Expert at the New Strategy Center and Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations of SNSPA participated as a speaker at the international conference “Dialogue and Cooperation in the Black Sea and Balkans Regions”, which took place at the University of Bucharest. The event focused on topics of current and strategic interest, such as dialogue and cooperation in the Black Sea and Balkans regions, and the role of higher education in the context of crisis.


Dr. Alina Bârgăoanu participated in the panel “Fake-News, Propaganda, and other Societal Challenges”, organized in collaboration with the New Strategy Center. The panel was also attended by Prof. Bogdan Oprea, Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences, University of Bucharest. Discussions focused on disinformation campaigns launched in the public space, their effect on society, and ways to combat such hybrid challenges. Participants in the discussion stressed the importance of building a resilient society, without which we cannot combat these disinformation and propaganda campaigns, and the importance of education in ensuring societal resilience. The conference was organized by the Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN) and the Balkan Universities Association (BUA), bringing together in Bucharest over 100 global experts on strategic issues, representatives of the Romanian Government, rectors, academics, and representatives of public and private institutions in the area.
