NSC at the Paris Defence and Strategy Forum

The New Strategy Center participated at the Paris Defence and Strategy Forum, held between March 11 and 13, 2025.

On behalf of NSC, Major General (Retired) Paul Hurmuz was a speaker of the Round Table: “Alliances on Europe’s Eastern Flank – Prospects on Collective Defence”. During the debate it was stressed that NATO’s military presence on Europe’s eastern flank remains a cornerstone of its defence and deterrence posture. France has solidified its role by becoming a framework nation in Romania.

The other speakers were: Mr. Yordan BOZHILOV, President of the Sofia Security Forum, Mrs. Irina ZIDARU, Director General for Strategic Affairs at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nicolas TENZER, President of the CERAP (Centre d’étude et de réflexion pour l’action politique). The moderator was Mr. Edouard GAUDOT, Guest Professor at ESSEC (The École Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales).
