On Thursday, November 20, New Strategy Center organized a roundtable dedicated to current developments in the Indo-Pacific region, featuring Prof. Gordon Flake, CEO of the Perth USAsia Centre at the University of Western Australia. He presented an extensive analysis of regional developments and their implications for international stability.
The discussions addressed Australia’s main strategic dilemmas, positioned between major economic dependencies in its relationship with China and its security commitments in partnership with the United States. The complex relationships between Canberra and regional actors were also examined, as well as the impact of these dynamics on Australia–European Union relations.
Also participating in the discussions were H.E. Alison Duncan, Australia’s Ambassador to Romania, and H.E. Radu Safta, Romania’s Ambassador to Australia (online). The event was moderated by Amb. (Ret.) Gheorghe Magheru, Member of the NSC Scientific Council.
