NSC in Kyiv: two years since the beginning of the war

New Strategy Center participated in Kyiv on 24 February at the Yalta European Strategy conference dedicated to two years of Russia’s war of aggression and Ukraine’s resistance. Discussions focused on developments on the front, societal resistance, the effects of declining Western support, the phenomenon of “war fatigue”, with the whole event being a plea for helping Ukraine to continue its resistance against Russian aggression, at this time requiring the rapid delivery of arms and ammunition to stop the Russian army. Another issue was the consequences of the war on the Ukrainian economy and society, with help from the democratic world vital to balance the budget and mitigate the negative economic and social effects. Support for integration into NATO and the EU is equally necessary, especially for the morale and determination of Ukrainians who are fighting for the country to be part of the democratic world.

George Scutaru, Director General of the New Strategy Center, and Ecaterina Dadiverina, Coordinator of the Ukraine Projects Department, met on 23-24 February with several officials and experts in Kyiv to exchange views on the current security situation, support for Ukraine, various research projects and cooperation between the NSC and Ukrainian think tanks.

New Strategy Center is grateful to Mr. Victor Micula, Ambassador of Romania to Ukraine, for his support.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
