New Strategy Center has become involved in humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting localities in Ukraine affected by Russian bombardments targeting the energy system. Thus, the school in Dmytrivka, Kiliia district, Odesa region, received a generator following a sponsorship provided by Leviatan Group. On Tuesday, April 6, representatives of NSC and Leviatan Group visited the school in Dmytrivka, a locality with a large ethnic Romanian population. Although many schools in Ukraine are affected by frequent power outages, classes in Dmytrivka will now continue without disruption, regardless of the season.

NSC representatives also made a book donation and offered books to two students, Ariana Cernova (9th grade) and Carina Mutu (11th grade), who won second place at the national stage of the Romanian language Olympiad, native language category. The donation is also the first humanitarian action organized in the Odesa region by New Strategy Center Ukraine, a non-governmental organization established in Izmail to support cross-border cooperation between Ukraine and Romania.

“Russia is causing suffering at every step in Ukraine, bombing cities and attempting to destroy energy infrastructure. However, cold and darkness have not defeated Ukraine. From everywhere, Ukraine’s friendly countries have provided the necessary aid. We are pleased that Leviatan Group, at the initiative of New Strategy Center, has donated a generator for a school that has so far been affected by power outages. The children in the locality of Dmytrivka, near Kiliia, in the Odesa region, will be able to learn in better conditions thanks to the generosity of Leviatan Group. 250 children, many of them of Romanian ethnicity, now have another chance. We are glad to bring a smile to the faces of the children in Dmytrivka, with this initiative implemented on the ground by New Strategy Center Ukraine. We are happy that, at Easter, we are bringing light—literally—to these children.”
— George Scutaru, CEO, New Strategy Center
“In Dmytrivka, 250 children study in Ukrainian and Romanian, in harmony and understanding. Everything was beautiful until the war began—until the first air raid sirens sounded, until the first drones arrived. Every child wants to learn, but sometimes it was impossible due to the lack of electricity. With the help of Leviatan Group, the people of Dmytrivka can now see better conditions for their children in a school that will have a new and high-performance generator. New Strategy Center Ukraine also has the mission of strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Romania, as well as cross-border collaboration. Such concrete gestures show the solidarity of Romanians with the Ukrainian people who are severely affected by this war. Evil cannot prevail if good people with big hearts unite and help Ukraine.”
