NSC – Meeting with experts from the Tocqueville Fellowship

New Strategy Center met on Wednesday, April 9, with a group of fellows from the Tocqueville Fellowship, from France.
Ambassador Gheorghe Magheru, member of the NSC Scientific Council, and Major General (Ret.) Paul Hurmuz, senior associate expert at NSC, gave presentations focused on the security situation in the Black Sea region.

The discussions centered on the growing tensions between major nuclear powers, developments in the war in Ukraine, Russia’s hybrid actions in the Black Sea region in the context of its invasion of Ukraine, the EU’s strategic autonomy, as well as Romania’s role at the borders of the EU and NATO.
