NSC in France: dialogue session with French experts on strategic issues of common interest

New Strategy Center participated on April 3 in Chantilly, France, in a dialogue session on topics of common interest with French experts. The event was organized by the Foundation for Strategic Research in partnership with the New Strategy Center, with the support of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions covered topical issues such as possible developments in the war in Ukraine, the peace process, the transatlantic relationship, and the strengthening of the EU’s defense and security profile. The experts also analyzed the security challenges in the Black Sea, the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean, energy and connectivity projects, the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and the global impact.
The participants also addressed the topic of bilateral cooperation between Romania and France, taking into account France’s interest in the Black Sea region and the fact that this country leads the NATO battle group in Romania.

The NSC delegation included: George Scutaru, Director General, Amb. Gheorghe Magheru, Member of the Scientific Council, Amb. Doru Costea, Member of the Scientific Council, LTG (ret.) Vasile Toader, Member of the Scientific Council, Antonia Colibășanu, Senior Associate Expert and Catherine Neguț, Junior Expert. The NSC delegation was also joined by representatives from MFA and MoD, both from France and Romania.
