NSC: research visit to Chisinau

New Strategy Center conducted a research visit to Chisinau on September 17-18, having meetings with several officials and experts from the Republic of Moldova.

Victor Parlicov, Minister of Energy, H.E. Andrei Spînu, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilian Carp, Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Parliament, Stanislav Secrieru, Presidential Advisor on National Security, Valeriu Mija, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ana Revenco, Director of the Center for Combating Disinformation, Vlad Cojuhari, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Iulian Groza, Director of the Institute for European Policy and Reform.

 

During the visit, the topics addressed were the current security challenges in the Black Sea region in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Russia’s multiple hybrid actions to destabilize the Republic of Moldova, societal and institutional resilience issues. Topics such as energy security and measures to combat widespread disinformation were also on the agenda.

In the framework of the various international projects that the NSC carries out or during the visits undertaken by NSC representatives in other countries, the interest in the security challenges in the Republic of Moldova is high and that is why the NSC experts wish to deepen, during such visits, the topics vital for the regional security of the Republic of Moldova and, implicitly, of Romania.
