NSC – side event in the margins of Three Seas Initiative Summit

New Strategy Center organized on 8 September, on the margins of the Three Seas Initiative Summit, in partnership with the Three Seas Initiative Research Centre, the project realised at the Institute for Political Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, a round table entitled “Conclusions from the Three Seas Initiative Summit in Bucharest. What is the use of scientific research and academic dimension for regional cooperation?”.

Discussions focused on the results of the recent Three Seas Initiative Summit in Bucharest, the progress made in this regional format, and the current state of academic cooperation between the Three Seas Initiative countries.

The panel was moderated by Prof. Agnieszka Orzelska-Staczek, Leader, Three Seas Initiative Research Centre; Professor, Institute for Policy Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences & Dr. Antonia Colibășanu, Senior Associate Expert, New Strategy Center & Senior Geopolitical Analyst, Geopolitical Futures, Lecturer, SNSPA, Romania.

The speakers were Prof. Przemysław Żurawski vel Grajewski, Associate Professor, Department of Theory of Foreign Policy and Security Studies, Faculty of International and Political Studies, University of Łódź, Poland, Dr. Mihai Sebe, Head of Service, Department of Training and Projects, European Institute of Romania, Romania, Prof. Andžej Pukšto, Professor, Department of Political Science, Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania, Dr. Todor Galev, Director of Research Department, Center for the Study of Democracy, Bulgaria, Dr. Murman Margvelashvili, Founder & Board Member, World Experience for Georgia, Georgia.

With its focus on connectivity, digitisation and the energy dimension, the 3 Seas Initiative is a regional cooperation format that is becoming attractive in the current geopolitical context for new countries in the vicinity of its geographical area, but is also developing new lines of action complementary to the three areas mentioned, such as scientific research and academic cooperation.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the New Strategy Center and the Institute of Political Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences.
