New Strategy Center participated in the Yalta European Strategy Forum, a major event in the domain of security and international relations, which took place in Kyiv on 8-9 September. The event entitled “The Future is being decided in Ukraine” brought together Ukrainian officials and experts from EU and NATO countries and analyzed the impact of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine from several perspectives: the situation on the frontline, the prospects for EU and NATO integration, the multiple aspects of Ukraine’s reconstruction process, societal resilience.
President Volodimir Zelensky, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal, Ministers of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Energy, Economy, parliamentarians, generals and officers from the front explained to the audience Ukraine’s determination to resist Russian aggression and to liberate its occupied territories and be part of the Euro-Atlantic area.
NSC was represented by George Scutaru, Director General, and was the only Romanian think tank present at the event. It was a good opportunity for NSC to present its work in discussions with Ukrainian officials and experts and to identify new collaboration projects.
On the occasion of the visit to Kiev, NSC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism”, one of the most prestigious think tanks in Ukraine.
