The New Strategy Center organised a consultation session on strategic topics with French experts on 21-22 March with the Foundation for Strategic Research (FRS) in Paris. Representatives of several prestigious think tanks such as the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Foundation for Strategic Research and the French Institute of International Affairs participated in this activity.
The Romanian and French experts discussed topics of common interest, such as the evolution of the war in Ukraine, France’s Black Sea policy, challenges to the European Union and NATO in the context of this year’s elections, the hybrid actions of the Russian Federation, the EU enlargement process, support for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, the EU’s strategic autonomy. The discussions also covered other important topics, such as transatlantic cooperation, US-EU relations and EU-China relations.
The NSC and FRS are thus contributing to the development of the strategic dialogue between Romania and France and to closer cooperation in a difficult, increasingly volatile and unpredictable strategic context.
