The New Strategy Center organized on Thursday, March 26, at Domeniile Panciu, a roundtable entitled “Peace Negotiations in the Russia–Ukraine War,” attended by experts and officials from 10 countries (Romania, Ukraine, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, and the Republic of Moldova).
During the meeting, discussions focused on analyzing possible developments in the war in Ukraine, Russia’s stance in negotiations, the role of other actors, and the security guarantees for Ukraine needed to prevent a new act of aggression by Russia.
The impact of transatlantic relations on the negotiation process was also discussed, along with the economic and political effects generated by the war in Iran and the ongoing security crisis in the Middle East.

Another important topic addressed was the hybrid warfare carried out by Russia in Europe, aimed at reducing support for Ukraine. The instruments used by Russia to destabilize European countries and weaken their internal cohesion were also analyzed.
Through this strategic dialogue, the NSC also sought to contribute to a better understanding of international developments on issues of vital interest to the security of Romania and the Black Sea region, in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
