We must continue to help Ukraine resist!
Ukraine’s invasion by the Russian Federation is a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to Romania’s security and the stability of the entire European continent. We are witnessing an invasion that will only increase Kremlin’s appetite for more destabilizing action, if it is not stopped now.
Ukraine’s fight is the civilized world’s fight against abuse and dictatorship. If Ukraine capitulates and Russia reaches the Danube mouths, this will be Romania’s geostrategic nightmare. Russia’s occupation of the Snake Island is a fact that will cause great problems in the future to free navigation in the Western Black Sea and to Romania’s economic interests in our exclusive economic zone.
Our country must help Ukraine resist, and that is why we consider Romanian Government’s decision to send ammunition, military equipment, food, sanitary materials and fuel appropriate.
This aid must continue because each day when Ukraine resists means putting an end to Vladimir Putin’s adventuristic plans, which may affect other countries, such as the Republic of Moldova or Georgia, in the future.
New Strategy Center is expressing its solidarity with all friends in Ukraine, experts of institutes and think-tanks with which the NSC has cooperation agreements, and is assuring them that Romania stands by Ukraine’s fight.
