Dialogue between experts from NSC and LSE IDEAS

New Strategy Center, in collaboration with LSE IDEAS from the United Kingdom, organized a session from January 30 to February 1, dedicated to strategic topics of interest. This exchange of expertise was particularly valuable given the highly volatile international context and the importance of the UK-Romania relationship for Romania’s security.

Romanian and British experts analyzed current issues such as the security situation in the Black Sea region, potential developments in the war in Ukraine, prospects for peace negotiations, and the role of key actors involved in this process. Additionally, discussions covered topics such as the future of the transatlantic relationship, Russia’s hybrid actions, and various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

Through this initiative, New Strategy Center and LSE IDEAS reaffirm their commitment to fostering strategic dialogue between Romania and the United Kingdom and promoting the strategic importance of the Black Sea region.

LSE IDEAS is the London School of Economics’ think tank specializing in security and international affairs.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
