New Strategy Center organised a working dinner on 12 February on the topic “Romania’s energy security and the prospect of expanding electricity transmission and distribution. Domestic and international impact”, attended by Romanian officials, experts and representatives of electricity companies.
Discussions focused on topics such as strategies to diversify energy sources and increase transmission and distribution capacities, their impact on the domestic economy and the role Romania plays in the European and regional energy context, the process of digitisation of the distribution network, protection against threats such as cyber threats.
Strategies to expand the electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure become essential to ensure a constant and reliable supply.
This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ideas and solutions for strengthening Romania’s energy security. The discussions were attended by H.E. Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy, Mr. Bende Sandor, Chairman of the Committee for Industries and Services, Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Lorant Antal, Chairman of the Energy Committee of the Senate, Mr. Victor Negrescu and Mr. Cristian Bușoi, Members of the European Parliament, Mr. Bogdan Chirițoiu, President of the Romanian Competition Council,
representatives of the Parliament and other institutions with responsibilities in the energy field, representatives of the private sector.
