The panel was chaired by Mr. Laurențiu Pachiu, Senior Associate Expert at the New Strategy Center and Vice President of the Energy Policy Group, Romania. The discussion featured contributions from Mr. Lóránt Antal, Chairman of the Energy Committee in the Romanian Senate; Mr. Symeon Tsomokos, Founder and President of the Delphi Economic Forum, Greece; Mr. Gabriel Andronache, Vice President of the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE); Mr. Alessio Menegazzo, CEO and Country Manager of PPC Group, Romania; and Mr. Ondrej Šafář, Country Manager of EVRYO Group, Romania.
The panel highlighted the strategic role of energy security in the Black Sea and Aegean regions, emphasising its direct connection to regional stability. Romania was presented as a key actor due to its contribution to integrating Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova into the European ENTSO-E grid. Speakers emphasised that energy security relies on production capacity, transport infrastructure, and the protection of critical networks, particularly in the face of hybrid threats. The role of innovation and digitalisation in the energy sector was also discussed, along with the importance of transparent policies and legislative flexibility to keep pace with rapid technological change. Investments in both renewable and conventional energy were seen as vital to ensure long-term resilience
