The New Strategy Center participated on May 6–7 in the Defence24 Days conference in Poland.
NSC was represented by Major General (ret.) Mihai Burlacu, Senior Associate Expert, who was a speaker in the panel titled “Modern Economy and Defense: Technological Shift, Dual-Use, Start-Ups.” The discussion emphasized the acute relevance of particularly important topics for Romanian society as well, regarding the role of innovative and dual-use solutions in the defense sector. Also analyzed was how Ukraine has managed to make significant progress in digital transformation and its application in warfare in such a short time, and how its wartime military experience will be used in the civilian sector once the war ends—first, in maintaining long-term defense and deterrence capability; second, in stimulating overall economic growth; and third, in achieving a high level of innovation in the civilian economy.
