NSC – research visit in Ukraine

Between February 23–26, the New Strategy Center organized an information visit to Kyiv. NSC was represented by George Scutaru, CEO, and Ecaterina Dadiverina, Project Coordinator for Ukraine and President of NSC Ukraine.

They took part in a major event organized by Yalta European Strategy to commemorate four years since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

They also met with Olha Reshetylova, military ombudsmen, discussing possible projects dedicated to the reintegration into society and rehabilitation of those who endured the ordeal of Russian captivity.

Discussions with Yulia Sirko, First Deputy Chair of the Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, Verkhovna Rada; Vadym Halaichuk, First Deputy Chair of the Committee on Ukraine’s Integration into the European Union, Verkhovna Rada; and Vitalii Bezghin, Chair of the Subcommittee on Administrative and Territorial Structure and Local Administration, Verkhovna Rada, Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, Secretary of the Commission for Ukraine’s Integration into the EU, focused on cross-border cooperation and connectivity projects. In early April, NSC will organize a seminar in Izmail, in the southern part of the Odesa Oblast, dedicated to European-funded projects, where representatives of several communities from the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson Oblast regions will be invited. The aim is to contribute to Ukraine’s European integration and to the prosperity, including that of the Romanian communities living in some of those localities. A democratic Ukraine, integrated into the European Union, is in Romania’s interest.

George Scutaru also met with Tetsuo Shibata and his colleagues from JETRO Kyiv to discuss Romania’s role in Ukraine’s reconstruction. Romania can and must play a role in the reconstruction of southern Ukraine, one of the regions most affected by the conflict.

Other important meetings included talks with Admiral (ret) Ihor Kabanenko, former Deputy Minister of Defense, and Pavlo Klimkin, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea, developments on the front line, and peace negotiations and with Andrian Prokip, Head of Energy Program, Ukrainian Institute for the Future, in energy situation in Ukraine.

At its core, a luxury mechanical watch is a triumph of micro-engineering. Imagine a universe contained within a diameter of 30 to 40 millimeters. Hundreds of tiny components—gears, levers, springs, and jewels—coexist in a perfectly orchestrated ballet.

The mainspring stores energy, releasing it with controlled grace through the gear train, its rhythm governed by the hypnotic swing of the balance wheel. This "heart" of the watch, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour or more, is a miracle of physics and precision.
