New Strategy Center, with the support of the Romanian Embassy in Kyiv, organized on Monday, 14 October, in Frumushika Nova in Odesa region, Ukraine, a seminar on absorption of EU funds for local governments in Ukraine and Moldova.
It was attended by mayors and experts from 24 municipalities from the south of the Republic of Moldova and the Odesa region of Ukraine.
During the seminar were explained the programs that can be accessed by the states in the pre-accession period, programs that are aimed at cross-border cooperation, examples of good practices from Romania were presented.
Representatives of the Civil and Military Administration of the Odesa region, the Development Agency and the Chamber of Commerce of the Odesa region also participated.
Romania’s Ambassador in Kyiv, H.E. Victor Micula, said that Romania will strongly support the integration process of Ukraine and Moldova and is interested in sharing its experience with neighboring countries in order to contribute to their successful accession to the EU.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Kyiv, H.E. Valeriu Chiveri, considered that such initiatives that bring together mayors and experts from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are beneficial and help a lot to the development of the communities in the three countries, communities that are interested in having as many projects as possible financed by European funds.
George Scutaru, CEO of the New Strategy Center, said that the NSC will continue to organize such training seminars and to generate other cooperation projects, as the accession of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to the EU is a goal strongly supported by Romania. “The NSC is particularly keen to develop projects with Ukraine, especially in the border region with Romania, such as Transcarpathia, Chernivtsi, Odesa, contributing to the development of an environment of trust and cooperation between the communities of Romania and Ukraine, to which can be added, on certain projects, also communities from the Republic of Moldova”, emphasized George Scutaru.
NSC is grateful to the Romanian Ambassador in Kyiv, H.E. Victor Micula, and the Romanian Embassy in Kyiv for their support and the experts Anamaria Șandor (Fuduli), Monica Dinu, Arpad Todor and Răzvan Mătieș for their participation in the event and for the dynamic and interesting presentations.
This event could also be organized with the support of CONAF – National Confederation for Women Entrepreneurship.
