New Strategy Center publishes a new study, in partnership with LSE Ideas, the London School of Economics think tank, entitled: „SECURITY CHALLENGES IN THE BLACK SEA: NATO, THE WIDER REGION AND THE GLOBAL ORDER. Pledging for a free and open Black Sea”.
The report addresses the security challenges in the Black Sea region in the context of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, emphasizing the strategic importance of the Black Sea globally and highlighting threats to freedom of navigation, energy security and trade and food security. The study also emphasizes the important role of NATO in ensuring an open and free Black Sea, essential for global security.
The research was presented last week at NATO headquarters in Brussels during an event organized by the Romanian Permanent Delegation to NATO.
The authors of the study are George Scutaru, Director General of the NSC and Peter Watkins, Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE Ideas.
